The Viera Company is Making Strides With The American Cancer Society

The Viera Company sponsors the 2017 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and Todd Pokrywa, Senior VP – TVC, raises over $6k for the Real Men Wear Pink Fundraiser.

Viera, Fla. – Oct. 13, 2017 – After participating in last year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk as a Bronze sponsor, The Viera Company decided to join forces with the American Cancer Society again this year as a Silver sponsor for the annual event. The Viera Company, also threw their support behind one of their own, Todd Pokrywa, Senior VP Land Use Planning & Development, as he works diligently to raise funds for the Real Men Wear Pink – American Cancer Society Fundraiser.

Michelle Oesterle, Senior Community Development Manager – American Cancer Society is getting ready for the race and working hard to continue fundraising efforts for the event. “It’s nice to know that we can depend on the support of The Viera Company year after year. In addition to supporting the event financially, The Viera Company staff has taken time out of their busy schedules to brainstorm with me so that this event can continue to improve and have a significant impact on those affected by breast cancer. The Viera Company truly cares about our community and it’s a pleasure to partner with them,” Oesterle stated.

The funds raised through the Real Men Wear Pink fundraiser and The Viera Company’s charitable sponsorship donation will go toward the overall fundraising amount for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 28, 2017. As of Friday, Oct. 13th the Real Men Wear Pink fundraiser had already raised over $12,000 for The American Cancer Society which they will be contributing to the over $58,000 that the 170 registered teams and 778 registered participants have currently raised for the Making Strides 5K! This year the walk will begin and end at The Avenue Viera, kicking off at 7am with Mike and Mindy from Lite Rock hosting the opening ceremonies at 8am. The walk starts at 9am and Pizza Gallery & Grill will be hosting a brunch immediately after the race with a portion of the proceeds going to Making Strides.

“I am honored to join other community and business leaders as one of the Real Men Wear Pink candidates again this year as we work to raise awareness and funds in the battle against this terrible disease that affects too many individuals and families,” stated Todd Pokrywa, Real Men Wear Pink Candidate. The Real Men of Brevard have so far raised a combined total of nearly $12,500 but they need all of our help to hit that $50,000 goal by their October 31st deadline.“Please support my efforts, or those of any of the other Real Men candidates, as we join the fight during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to have a meaningful impact in striving to end breast cancer. I know that together we are making a difference.”
