VHS Athlete Sosa Going to All-America Game

August 15, 2022 – The student athletes at Viera High School never fail to impress, and here’s another excellent example: baseball catcher Alex Sosa has been selected to play in the 2022 Baseball Factory All-America Game. How big a deal is that? Only 40 seniors from around the U.S. are in this elite group.

Baseball Factory All-Americans are selected by a committee of Baseball Factory scouts and will compete in an American vs National team match-up. In addition to the game, players will participate in a workout, a Home Run Derby, and other events as part of the All-America experience.

The event will be held at Kauffman Stadium, the home of the Kansas City Royals on August 16th, where the 6′ 1″, 195 lb. Sosa will put his skills to the test against the best of the best in his own age group.

Many players who have participated in the event in the past have ended up with careers in the majors and many more go on to play college ball. Sosa already has a commitment to play at North Carolina State.

Viera congratulates Alex Sosa on catching this great opportunity. Play ball!
