Space Coast Symphony Goes On A BENDER

August 24, 2020 – The summer drive-in concert series for the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra wraps up with a performance of Broadway Gender Bender, where your favorite show tunes that are traditionally sung by one gender will be belted out by members of the opposite sex.  This clever twist will come to life at 7 pm on Saturday August 29 at The Avenue in Viera.

Thank you Teachers graphicThe concert will celebrate essential workers who have stayed on the job to help others stay home.  It’s also a tip of the hat to teachers and educators who have aquired some new tricks about distance learning and are working hard to keep everyone safe on the return to the classroom.

Admission is free for ages 18 and under or with a student ID, or $10 per person or $25 per carful of adults.  Visit SpaceCoastSymphony.org.

Musicians will play their instruments safely separated from each other, while concert attendees can remain in their cars and tune their radios to the live feed, or set up their own seating next to their vehicles.

“I am so humbled to be a part of this project,” said Aaron Collins, Artistic Director & Conductor for the orchestra, “and performing these concerts for our community. During hardships like this, we have to lean on each other for help and support.

“There is something about music that brings us closer to each other and helps us come together as a community. Community is a fundamental aspect of our experience of music—it unites us, forming bonds that might not exist otherwise.”
