February 19, 2024 – In a few months there will be a new Publix supermarket in Viera, at 7655 Stadium Parkway, south of Viera Hospital. According to reports, this new store may hold some surprises for long-time customers.
The first big change is pretty obvious: the new Publix will have a two-story design, with a mezzanine where shoppers can sit down and enjoy one of the store’s prepared meals. Another innovation is the 1,400-square-foot liquor store, with plenty of selection and a parking lot with 344 parking spaces, which should keep your lot cruising to a minimum.
One change will see the end of a Publix tradition. The huge free scale that shoppers found near the front door will be phased out in new stores. The company that manufactured the scales doesn’t make them anymore, so keeping the scales maintained had become a weighty problem (couldn’t resist).
There are many Publix stores in our area, but the new Viera location will give you a peek into the future of grocery shopping. Quality and innovation has always been a Publix tradition, and that is a tradition that will continue.
