August 1, 2023 – The Brevard Zoo is consistently ranked as one of the best zoos in the nation, and that means a process of continuous improvement. They are getting ready to spruce things up a bit, so if you don’t mind not being able to see some of your furry favorites during this time, you can enjoy the zoo– and get a great deal in the bargain.
Here are the details: Adult Florida residents will enjoy 50% off Zoo admission from Aug. 7-31. These special tickets can be purchased online or in person. All adults using this discount must show either a state-issued photo ID or a utility bill with address along with a matching photo ID at the Zoo entrance.
Then, in September, children 11 years of age and younger will receive free admission to the Zoo when accompanied by a paying adult who is a Florida resident. No more than three children may be admitted for free per paying adult, and this promotion may not be combined with any other offers or discounts. All adults must again present a state-issued photo ID or utility bill with address and matching photo ID.
The Expedition Africa section of Brevard Zoo will be closed to the public from August 7 through September 25 as part of a massive renovation taking place which includes the building of a permanent lion habitat. This habitat is set to open in the middle of 2024. During this fall closure, the existing boardwalk will be replaced with new decking. Giraffe feeding, the rhino experience and kayaking will not be available during the closure and will return September 26. For those interested in kayaking, the Wetlands kayaking will be available in the Wild Florida section.
